In what can only be described as a new low, Palestinian TV misrepresented a photo of concentration camp victims as Arabs, making the preposterous claim that Jews burned Arabs in oven.

Only days before Israel’s Holocaust Memorial Day, the Palestinian Authority committed one of the most shocking recent displays of hate and duplicity, using its TV network to broadcast a photo of victims of a Nazi concentration camp while claiming that the victims were Arabs killed by Jews.

PA TV altered the photo showing hundreds of dead bodies at the Nazi concentration camp at Nordhausen, originally a subcamp of Buchenwald, presenting the victims as “Arabs killed by Jews” on April 9, 1948 in the Arab village of Deir Yassin. To do so, PA TV erased the striped concentration camp uniforms and images of American soldiers in the original photo.

The network then made the absurd claim that Jewish fighters put Arabs in ovens in 1948, stating, “[The Jews] burned the women and children in the village’s oven”

In addition altering the concentration camp photo, PA TV also showed a photo of victims of the massacre in the Sabra and Shatila camp perpetrated by Christian Lebanese forces, and claimed instead that Jews committed the crimes in 1948.

As if the PA’s outright lies were not disturbing enough, it timed this disgraceful display to coincide with Israel’s annual Holocaust Remembrance Day. In the same week when Israelis gather to mourn and remember family members who were brutally killed during the Nazi genocide, the PA presented pictures of these victims as invented evidence of events that never occurred.
