At a Mahjong and Merlot event dedicated to raising money for IDF widows, over 35,000 shekels were raised as the women gathered to support each other and raise awareness.

Wendy Slavin, ITECF’s Board president, said the tournament reflects the foundation’s mission to create opportunities for children across Israel through tennis, education and community.

The organization works through three main tracks: monthly financial assistance, emotional care, and continuous personal contact.

Charidy said Israelis contributed 432 million shekels over the year, reflecting substantial growth despite security tensions and economic uncertainty.

The climb has become both a fundraising success and a rallying point for young Jews seeking connection, reflection, and solidarity with Israel.

The new capital will be deployed over the next three years into around 15 startups, with initial investments ranging from $2 million to $7 million, and follow-on investments reaching up to $15 million.

Israeli firms secured 38% of all national tech investment, despite representing just 7% of the broader tech industry.

The success of the campaign comes as Israel continues to face ongoing security threats following the October 7 attacks.

'Every dollar blocked is a step closer to weakening this terrorist organization,' Defense Minister Israel Katz said.

She shared her journey of starting a fundraising initiative to support the widows of Israeli soldiers.

So far, the couple has raised $300,000, aided 60,000 soldiers, and has 400 volunteers.
