U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and his team have been mediating between Israel and Saudi Arabia for the past few months, according to a report in one of Israel's top daily newspapers.

Secretary of State Pompeo announced on Monday that the U.S. no longer deems Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria 'illegal.'

Pompeo delivered a brutal dressing down to Obama and his Mideast policy during a powerful address in Cairo on Thursday.

The US says Iran is the world's foremost state sponsor of terror and cannot be treated as an equal in the global community until it halts these activities.

Iran is using diplomatic compounds in Europe and elsewhere as cover to plot terrorist attacks, the US charged. 

'All of these weapons are for use against the State of Israel and it is our right – based on the right of self-defense – to prevent their manufacture or transfer,' the Israeli premier stated.

Pompeo discussed the the Trump administration's tough approach to Iran, saying withdrawal from the nuclear deal was just the beginning.
