As the High Holidays approach and Jews around the world begin reciting Selichot, the traditional repentance prayers, several former hostages held in Gaza joined Saturday night's prayers at the Western Wall.

Amid Palestinian attacks and under heavy IDF protection, thousands of Jews traveled to Joseph's Tomb in Nablus to pray, calling on the Israeli government to restore sovereignty to a historical part of the Jewish homeland.

Israeli ministers, including Bezalel Smotrich and Zvi Succot, visited Joseph's Tomb for daytime prayers and called for a permanent Jewish presence in the area.
