Canadian legal expert Michael Lynk, who has expressed anti-Israel views, is set to be appointed by the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) to the post of special rapporteur on human rights issues affecting the Palestinians.

"The Human Rights Council is only obsessed with the fate of the Palestinians, and prefers to close its eyes to other critical human rights violations. It consistently disregards the human rights of Israelis..." said Israel's ambassador to the UN in Geneva.
