Talks with Iran would resume on Monday afternoon, U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday.
Trump did not say where the talks would take place or who would participate, Reuters reported.

“Would I rather make a deal? I’m not looking to kill people because people die, a lot of people die, and we don’t want that,” he said.
Trump said on Saturday that he had canceled a planned attack on Iran after Tehran had agreed in principle to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and negotiate an end to its nuclear program.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, the president said the U.S. military was “locked and loaded” and prepared to attack the Islamic Republic with force “not seen since World War II.”
Trump said Iran and other regional countries had asked Washington to hold off because “the perimeters of a deal” had been agreed. He said the proposed terms would include the “immediate, complete, and total” reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and “an end to Iran’s nuclear threat.
“Based on this request, I have agreed, for the future benefit of the world and, likewise, the survival of a successful and prosperous Iran, to cancel the attack, subject to being able to rapidly make a deal,” the president wrote.
Israel “joins me in this commitment,” Trump said in the post, adding, “Get to work, everybody, and get it done.”
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Sunday that the renewed diplomatic agreement with the U.S. had received the backing of all members of the Islamic Republic’s Supreme National Security Council.
“The Memorandum of Understanding that was signed was the result of the collective wisdom of the Supreme National Security Council members, and all members are aligned with it,” Pezeshkian wrote in a post on X, in reference to the latest deal with Washington.
“I believe this Memorandum of Understanding will become the cornerstone of our foreign relations in the future,” he added.
Likud Party lawmaker Tally Gotliv told JNS on Monday that there is no room for negotiations with Iran.
“I do not believe that the cruel Islamic Revolutionary Guards will ever agree to anything with the United States, the Big Satan, and Israel being the Small Satan. Therefore, the approach against Iran should be dealing them a serious blow as Trump sought to do,” she said.
“The fact that Trump entered negotiations with them is hopeless in my opinion. I cannot comment on his considerations, I can only say that there is no chance that this will lead to any kind of deal. In the end, Iran must be subdued and silenced,” she continued.
“The fact that, thank God, Iran is not attacking Israel shows the great deterrence that we have, both by making them aware that we will attack and by actually attacking, as seen in very powerful campaigns against Iran,” Gotliv said.
Yesh Atid Party Knesset member Meir Cohen told JNS that he was concerned Trump may reach an agreement with the Iranian regime that will not serve Israel’s interests.
“I fear that Donald Trump may reach an agreement that addresses the United States’ economic challenges and the world’s energy needs but leaves the nuclear issue, Iran’s proxies and the future unresolved,” the opposition legislator said.
“I think the West doesn’t understand the Iranian mindset or the fact that the war underscored for Tehran the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, which it now sees as a critical lever,” Cohen added.
