Two terror attacks occurred in Jerusalem on Monday on the eve of Tisha B’av, the ninth day of the Hebrew month of Av, a day of national mourning.

A terror attack occurred in Jerusalem on Monday at approximately 4 pm, when an IDF soldier was shot in the stomach on Mount Scopus. He is in moderate-to-serious condition.

Details remain unclear while police investigate. The suspect fled the scene.

“Multiple shots were fired, one man was hit in the stomach and rushed to the hospital in serious condition,” Police Spokesman Micky Rosenfeld stated. “Police units are now searching the area for the vehicle the suspect drove and hope to make an arrest shortly.”

An earlier attack took place early in the afternoon, when a tractor drove into a bus. A 25-year-old pedestrian was killed and six others were injured, including the driver of the bus, which was otherwise empty.
