With the seventeenth anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks upon us, consider for a moment that the first hero of that day was Israeli.

On the morning of September 11th, 2001, Danny Lewin was seated on board American Airlines flight 11, when two terrorists rose up and assaulted the cockpit.

As a veteran of the Israeli Special Forces, Danny leaped into action and tackled the two terrorists at the cockpit door.

He fell victim to a third terrorist who had been seated behind him, and lost his life in the struggle, dying as the first hero of 9/11.  Watch his incredible story below.
