This young Arab-Israel medic volunteers to save lives and works to increase awareness of the Holocaust in her community.

Yasmeen Mazzawi was honored on Israel’s 72nd Independence Day for her outstanding service to Israel, serving as a volunteer medic in Magen David Adom, the nation’s official emergency and disaster response service.

Mazzawi is an Arab-Israeli and said she was inspired as a youth by the programs in which she participated focusing on Holocaust education.

In addition to her lifesaving service as a medic, this young Israeli also works to increase awareness of the Jewish people’s struggle during and after the Shoah.
