From the United States to Dubai, countries around the world sent warm Chanukah wishes to Jewish communities.

On Sunday night, the holiday of Chanukah began with Jews across the globe lighting the menorah and celebrating the miraculous Maccabean victory over the Greeks.

World leaders have extended warm holiday wishes to the Jewish people through videos, statements, and public celebrations.

US President Joe Biden said that Chanukah “teaches us that even a little bit of light, wherever it is found, can dispel the darkness and illuminate a path forward.”

In the UAE, a candle-lighting ceremony was held at Dubai’s EXPO 2020 – the second in the history of the Gulf state.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also extended Chanukah greetings to the Jewish communities, with the British leader calling for an end to antisemitism.
