“Colorizing these photos will allow the people depicted in them to speak to us from the past,” says artist Yusuf Tolga Ünker.

Turkish artist Yusuf Tolga Ünker colorizes black and white photos from the Holocaust.

Relaying the message to skeptics that these horrors indeed took place, the artist transforms famous historical images into modern scenes that appear to be taking place in the present.

This tool makes the photos even more shocking to the current viewer.
