In 2020 Israelis observed Independence Day in lockdown, but this year the celebrations are back in full force!

Last year, due to the coronavirus, Israelis observed Independence Day with family-only celebrations at home, settling for videos of the air force’s annual fly-by that only flew over hospitals as a tribute to health workers.

This year, however, thanks to Israel’s mega-successful vaccination program, Independence Day celebrations are coming back and the traditional flyover will reach more towns and cities than usual as a tribute to the Jewish state’s resilience.
