Israel is under intense attack following the assassination of Palestinian Islamic Jihad commander Baha Abu Al Ata in Gaza by the IDF on Tuesday morning.
Red-alert sirens have been repeatedly trilling since 6 a.m. in southern Israel as barrages of rockets are being fired from Gaza into Israeli cities and even as far as Tel Aviv, where schools and businesses were closed.
The increase in rocket attacks followed the IDF’s targeted killing of Palestinian Islamic Jihad commander Baha Abu Al Ata early morning.
At Barzilai Medical Center in the southern coastal city of Ashkelon, an underground facility as built to ensure emergency care under these conditions. On Tuesday, infants were evacuated from the hospital’s preemie unit.
