The delegation acknowledged the threat posed to Israel by the Hezbollah terror group, noting the important work that the IDF has done to neutralize the tunnels.

Ahead of the upcoming renewal of the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mandate at the end of August, the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the IDF, hosted a delegation of ambassadors from the countries in the United Nations Security Council and UNIFIL.

The delegation was briefed on the current situation taking place on the border between Israel and Lebanon. In addition, the participants visited a Hezbollah attack tunnel that was exposed and destroyed during Operation “Northern Shield” 18 months ago.
