Trump signed an official declaration confirming that the U.S. recognizes Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, reiterating Israel’s right to defend itself wherever it is threatened.

In the wake of a Hamas-launched rocket attack that destroyed a house outside of Tel Aviv, leaving seven Israelis injured, U.S. President Donald Trump issued an address with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by his side.

Trump reaffirmed Israel’s right to defend itself, immediately after which he signed an official declaration on behalf of the U.S. recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights.

Trump also discussed Iran sanctions and blasted the anti-Semitic rhetoric creeping into American politics.
