Israeli votes election

Though Israel just held elections in April, the country will be returning to the voting booth on September 17.

Everyone knows that Israel is the only true democracy in the Middle East.

What might be lesser known is that when Israelis went to the voting booth on April 9, 2019, they were faced with a whopping 47 parties to vote for… Now, that’s democracy!

The leader of the party with the most votes is tasked with forming a coalition of at least 61 members of Knesset.

Prime Minister Netanyahu struggled and ultimately failed to form a coalition, falling one short of the required 61 Knesset members.

That means that for the first time in Israel’s history, elections will be held twice within several months. Israelis are heading back to the voting booths in September!
