The Dead Sea Scrolls continue to provide amazing information about what life was like in Israel thousands of years ago.

The Dead Sea Scrolls are a group of manuscripts discovered near the body of water in Israel from which they derive their name.

While the inscriptions on the scrolls remain their primary attraction, representing some of the oldest Hebrew writing that has been discovered to date, one of the scrolls’ coatings is also providing fascinating information about life in the region at the turn of the Common Era.
