A group of Israeli yachting enthusiasts chanced upon several Syrian and Iraqi refugees floundering in the water off the Greek coast, who they quickly rescued from what would have been certain death.
The refugees were very grateful and were not bothered in the least about being rescued by Israelis. In fact, they kissed their rescuers.
Of the eleven refugees were four children and, sadly, a deceased infant, whom the bereaved mother cradled in her arms all night.
We’re curious to know, how many of you read about this in the media? Did you even know this happened?
The people of Israel do not engage in acts of kindness in the hope of receiving media recognition. We do what all human beings should be doing – reaching out and helping those in need.
