The major challenge in treating cancer has been to minimize damage to healthy cells while eliminating cancer cells. Indeed, cancer patients are all to familiar with the debilitating effects on the body resulting from toxic chemicals and radiation.
Now, an international consortium of researchers from Boston’s MIT and Israel’s Hebrew University have succeeded in using the portion of human DNA that identifies disease to develop a protein that naturally targets cancer cells, while avoiding healthy ones.
