The time has come to apply Israeli law in Judea and Samaria, says Education Minister Naftali Bennett, leader of the Jewish Home party.

It has been almost 50 years since the IDF liberated Judea and Samaria as well as the Holy City of Jerusalem in June 1967, during the Six Day War. At the time, these territories, the biblical heartland of the Jewish people, had been occupied by Jordan since 1948. The surrounding Arab nations were threatening to destroy the Jewish state.

There are now 450,000 Israeli citizens living in Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, and it is time they are treated as all Israelis throughout the country, Bennett said.

As for world opinion, he cites other moves made by previous Israeli leaders for the benefit of Israel and the Jewish people, despite international opposition.
