The unit’s motto is, “In distress, you called and I rescued you” (Psalm 81:8), making it clear that when in need, Unit 669 is the address to call on for help.

Founded after the 1973 Yom Kippur War, IDF unit 669’s initial mandate was to rescue pilots beyond enemy lines.

However, today the unit rescues wounded soldiers, aids civilians in need of emergency aerial evacuation, and responds to emergencies both in Israel and abroad.

Watch and learn about Unit 669, the elite unit that is dispatched when things might go horribly wrong.
