Throughout WWII, the Nazi regime pillaged Jewish homes of art, jewelry, and other priceless artifacts. The Third Reich amassed pieces hundreds of thousands of pieces worth billions of dollars.

It wasn’t until 1997 that World Jewish Congress President Ronald Lauder, also an art collector, established the Commission for Art Recovery.

Many of these valuable works of art have yet to be returned to their rightful owners.
