Cyclists came to Jerusalem, the “City of Peace,” from many countries to participate in the first Giro d’Italia competition held outside of Europe. Netanyahu wished the Israeli team success.

Ahead of the launch of the Giro d’Italia cycling competition in Jerusalem on Friday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wished the Israeli team success, saying the entire country was rooting for them.

It was the first time that the Giro was being held outside of Europe and the first time an Israeli team participated.

The prime minister was pleased that bicyclists came from all over the world, including the Arab world, to Jerusalem, the City of Peace.
