A bipartisan vote by the House of Representatives demonstrated overwhelming support for Israel by rejecting the recently passed, one-sided anti-Israel UN resolution, in which the Obama administration abstained.
American lawmakers on Thursday voted 342-80 in favor of a non-binding resolution declaring unwavering support for the Jewish state.
The House measure reflects the “tremendous” support Israel enjoys among the American people, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said.
Israel will join Democrats and Republicans alike in rejecting the UN resolution condemning Israeli communities in eastern Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, the biblical homeland of the Jewish people.
