A staffer in the administration of NYC Mayor Eric Adams, whose position includes promoting “unity” and bridging “cultural divides,” was caught on film taking down street posters raising awareness about Israeli hostages, The New York Post reported.
Footage of the incident, which reportedly took place in early November, shows the cameraman asking the staffer, “Is there a reason you’re taking those down? Those are hostages, they were taken by terrorists.” The staffer then appears to slap the camera away from the cameraman.
According to The New York Post, Liora Rez, founder of nonprofit Stop Antisemitism, slammed the “appalling act of antisemitism” and demanded the staffer be fired.
However, a City Hall source told the Post that the staffer was simply required to take “multicultural training” and a disciplinary note was added to her permanent work file.
