Former MK Rabbi Dov Lipman, head of Yad l’Olim, which assists new immigrants to the Jewish state, discusses the significance of Tisha b’Av.

Tisha b’Av, the saddest day on the Hebrew calendar, is a day of mourning for the Jewish People.

It was on Tisha b’Av, the ninth day of the Hebrew month of Av, that both the First and Second Temples were destroyed – by the Babylonians and the Romans, respectively.

In fact, the destruction of the holy temples were not the only tragedies that took place on that day.

In this video, Rabbi Dov Lipman discusses the three weeks of mourning leading up to Tisha b’Av and some of the lessons we can learn from our history.
