The Menorah

According to the Temple Institute, the menorah weighs half a ton and contains 45 kilograms of 24- karat gold.

Every year hundreds of thousands of people from around the world visit the golden menorah where it currently stands, in the central plaza of the Jewish Quarter in Jerusalem’s Old City, just minutes from the Temple Mount, where it will one day make its permanent home in the rebuilt Holy Temple, “a house of prayer for all nations.” (Isaiah 56:7)

The Temple Institute, which works to restore consciousness about the Holy Temple (Beit Hamikdash) in Jerusalem, had constructed the Menorah, according to Torah requirements, “ready to be kindled in the rebuilt Holy Temple.”
