Michael Wardian has been crowned the new “King of the Israel National Trail,” running 631-miles in a mere week and a half!

While a hike through Israel’s world-famous national trail can take a mere mortal from 45 to 70 days, American ultra-runner Michael Wardian completed the feat in just 10 calendar days.

Covering 631 miles in a little over a week and a half, Wardian left the previous 15-day record set by Australian Richard Bowles in the dust. Bowles for his part spent three days in the hospital after setting that record.

“I just wanted to see if I can do it, so I took advantage of the downhills, and rolling hills with my leg speed; I just wanted to see if my body can handle it,” Wardian said.

Check out Wardian’s amazing journey, departing from Israel’s southern-most point in Eilat and traveling all the way up to Kibbutz Dan, next to the Israeli-Lebanese border.
