Every year, hundreds of Christian Israeli Arabs volunteer to serve in the army and national service, despite not being required to by law.

In Israel, all citizens have mandatory service in the IDF, with the exception of Israel’s Arab Muslims and Aramaic Christians. Yet every year, hundreds of Israeli Arabs volunteer to serve in the army and national service, despite not being required to by law.

Recently, there has been a major increase in the number of Christians volunteering to serve in the IDF.
