There is a critical need for world Jewry to unite as one Jewish people, World Jewish Congress President Ronald S. Lauder declared.

“We are one people, and we should start acting like it,” World Jewish Congress President Ronald S. Lauder told Jewish policy-makers and leaders at the recent annual Jerusalem Post conference on the challenges facing the Jewish world.

“If our enemies don’t care which synagogue we go to, why should we?” he asks

It was a timely statement, as this week leads up to Tisha b’Av, which commemorates the destruction of the first and Second Holy Temple. The Torah sages say that the latter as a result of sinat chinam – baseless hatred and division among the Jewish people.
