A group of eight students returning to their yeshiva after Friday evening prayers were ambushed by a group of Arabs.  The group claims it was a miracle there weren’t more injuries.

Friday night, two students from the Beit Orot Yeshiva on the Mount of Olives were ambushed and attacked on their way back to the Yeshiva building after Friday evening prayers marking the onset of the Sabbath.  They were part of a group of eight boys who had joined the prayers at the Beit Hachoshen building, where the services were held, about a 15 minute walk from the yeshiva.

As the boys were returning from services, they were ambushed by a group of Arabs who hurled rocks and at least one Molotov cocktail.  They attacked the boys with crowbars and were swinging planks of wood with protruding nails.

According to Jerusalem Councilman Arieh King, just before the beginning of the Sabbath and shortly before the attack, the police issued an order warning all Jews in the area to observe a curfew.  The warning, accompanied by threats of arrests, were only issued to the Jewish residents of the area.  No warning or curfews were issued for the Arabs, who regularly riot and attack the Jewish residents.

The boys escaped the attack by running into the yeshiva building where medics were called.  One of the boys was hospitalized with light to moderate wounds, the other was released after being treated.

The boys reported that it was clear that the attackers were waiting in ambush for them to pass by and felt that it was a miracle that they escaped with relatively few injuries.

Mutual Provocation or Blatant Antisemitism?

The police have defined the attack as “mutual provocation”. While it remains unclear as to why the incident was labeled in such a manner, there is a more important question that must be asked. How could 8 unarmed boys walking home from Sabbath services to their yeshiva be considered a provocation?!

It has already been made very clear that Hamas and the PA justify the killing of all Jews in the Land by claiming that every Jewish person in Israel is guilty of crimes against “Palestine”. But for some, the mere existence of Jews is a provocation!

Given the amount of violence being perpetrated against unarmed innocent civilians in recent months, one can only come to the conclusion that the motivation of these attacks is pure, unadulterated hate.

Israel is Fighting for Her Very Existence

While the rest of the world is calling for Israel to compromise to the point of endangering her citizens, she is fighting for her very existence. Calls for a two-state solution, or for Israel to give up more land are highly destructive. Such actions would only result in the death and destruction.

Tell us in the comments below: How can Israel have peace when many of her own “Palestinian”-Israeli citizens are working towards her destruction?
