Hamas operatives, during interrogation, revealed that the terror group is planning a resumption of suicide bombings in Israel, motivated in part by their rivalry with the Palestinian Authority.

Hamas is planning suicide bombings against Israeli and Jewish targets similar to the deadly attacks launched against civilians during the Second Intifada, Walla! News reported on Friday, quoting a senior Palestinian Authority (PA) source.

In an overnight raid Thursday, IDF forces arrested five Palestinian suspects, including five Hamas operatives, in PA-administered areas of Judea and Samaria. Although some of the terrorists involved in the attacks over the past three months hailed from Israel’s north, Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem and other regions, the majority were residents of the PA territories.

Israel is currently experiencing a wave of Palestinian terror mostly in the form of stabbings and vehicular attacks. The change in tactics, reports indicate, is intended to weaken the PA.

PA leader Mahmoud Abbas in June announced the end of the Palestinian unity government that was formed with Hamas a year earlier.
