The weekly Torah portion of “Teruma” (Exodus 25:1-27:19) covers the design and construction of the Tabernacle, known as the “mishkan.”

The mishkan was a portable sanctuary that the Jewish people used during their 40 years in the desert. It was a prototype for the Holy Temple in Jerusalem that was built hundreds of years later.

The Holy Temple, in turn, was the prototype for the modern-day synagogue.

Rabbi Enkin takes an in-depth look at all three sanctuaries, with an emphasis on their vessels, utensils and elaborate furnishings.
