Dos de los más altos dirigentes de Hamas aparecieron en la televisión oficial de la organización diciendo que Hamas ama la muerte tanto como los israelíes aman la vida.

La TV de Hamas también optó por emitir un comunicado del ex primer ministro de Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh en el que declaró: «Nosotros amamos la muerte como nuestros enemigos aman la vida. Amamos a Martirio».
