El 18 de Julio de 1994, Hezbolá llevó a cabo un horrible ataque bomba suicida que golpeó a Argentina.

El ataque tuvo lugar en el edificio de la Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA) en Buenos Aires, dejando 85 muertos y cientos de heridos. Este es el ataque terrorista más fuerte en Argentina y en toda Sudamérica hasta la fecha.

Este no fue el primer ataque terrorista de Hezbolá en Argentina. En 1992, Hezbolá atacó la Embajada de Israel en Buenos Aires, matando a 29 e hiriendo a cientos. Tanto en el ataque de 1992 como en el de 1994, Hezbolá recibió un importante apoyo monetario y de armamento de parte de Irán, como parte de su plan para promover el terrorismo en todo el mundo.
