Ra’i infiltrated Kibbutz Be’eri and participated in the kidnapping of an Israeli civilian into the Gaza Strip.

The IDF eliminated a Palestinian Islamic Jihad commander who participated in the October 7 massacre, invaded Kibbutz Be’eri and took part in the abduction of an Israeli civilian, the military announced Tuesday.
The terrorist, identified as Tareq Anwar Khamis Ra’i, was killed in an Israeli strike in the Khan Yunis area on Sunday.
According to the IDF, Ra’i served as a company commander in Islamic Jihad’s supply apparatus.
During the October 7 massacre, Ra’i infiltrated Kibbutz Be’eri and participated in the kidnapping of an Israeli civilian into the Gaza Strip.
The military said Ra’i had recently been involved in advancing terror attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians and was eliminated to remove the threat he posed.
The announcement comes a day after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held lengthy talks with Jared Kushner and other members of President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace over the next phase of the Gaza framework.
During those discussions, Netanyahu reportedly stressed that the IDF would maintain its freedom of action in Gaza, including continuing to target terrorists who participated in the October 7 massacre.
Israel also said it would remain deployed along the current Yellow Line while Hamas’s disarmament and the demilitarization of Gaza are addressed.
The IDF said Southern Command forces remain deployed in the Gaza Strip in accordance with the agreement and will continue operating to eliminate immediate threats to Israeli troops and civilians.
