Israel continues in its effort to uproot Palestinian terrorism everywhere.

Israeli security forces conducted a broad overnight counter-terror operation that resulted in the capture of 10 Palestinians wanted in connection with terror related activities.

Some 150 security personnel raided the Abu Dis and Azaria Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem late Monday night and arrested suspects involved in violent riots against Israeli targets.

Riots broke out while the arrests were being carried out.

Weaponry and other materials were uncovered and confiscated during the raid.

Jerusalem has witnessed in recent months a spike in the volume of the rock, fire-bomb and improvised explosive device (IED) attacks against Israeli forces, who have been working around the clock to quell the wave of violence and have devised new measures to counter the lethal phenomenon and restore order to the capital.

Uzi Levy, Commander of Border Police in Judea and Samaria, who oversaw the operation, stated that his forces have led several similar operations in recent months, which have brought terrorists to justice.

“We will continue to act decisively against anyone who disturbs the public’s peace and attempts to harm our forces and the citizens of Israel,” he vowed.
