‘National Suicide’: Reservists Block Gaza Aid Trucks at Ashdod Port

Israeli reservists from the “Generation of Victory” movement and activists from the grassroots group Tzav 9 staged a protest Tuesday at the Ashdod Port, blocking humanitarian aid trucks bound for the Gaza Strip.

“While our comrades are dying in combat in Gaza, the State of Israel is sending aid to Hamas on a silver platter,” the groups stated on X. “This is not humanitarianism—it is national suicide. Every truck that enters Gaza prolongs the war. We will be here every week—hundreds of reservists who will physically stop this insane policy.”

Earlier in the day, Tzav 9 activists reported they had been blocking aid trucks at the port for 30 minutes, echoing ongoing frustration over what they view as government negligence amid the ongoing conflict.

The protest follows a report by the Israeli Defense Ministry’s Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) that 170 trucks entered Gaza via the Kerem Shalom Crossing on Monday. The shipment included food, medical supplies and pharmaceuticals, including vaccines.

“Every effort is made to ensure that aid does not reach the hands of Hamas,” COGAT said.

Protests against humanitarian shipments have intensified in recent weeks. Earlier this month, demonstrators from Tzav 9 and “Generation of Victory” blocked access to the Kerem Shalom crossing, condemning the aid policy while Israeli hostages remain in Hamas captivity.

“This is not just a mistake—it is a state failure,” protest organizers said in a statement issued on Monday. “We are here to put an end to it.”
