More than a third of Palestinian Arabs would support a third intifada, and a majority prefer to end security and economic cooperation with Israel. The Palestinian leadership remains highly unpopular.

A large majority of Palestinians disapprove of security and economic ties with Israel, according to a poll conducted by An-Najah National University in Nablus (Shechem), Samaria. More than a third are in favor of a new intifada. The respondents rated the current Palestinian leadership poorly and expressed interest in elections.

Among the respondents, 72% were in favor of going to the UN to seek recognition of a Palestinian state based on the Green Line (pre-1967 borders) rather than achieving a state through peace negotiations with Israel. They were split on violence against Israel, with 38% in favor of an armed uprising and 56% preferring non-violent resistance. Approximately 20% would like to see the implementation of a one-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, namely, an end to the Jewish state. Fifty-nine percent want the Palestinian Authority to cease security cooperation with Israel, although only 26% believe that it would ever happen.

On economic ties, 74% said they would support a total boycott of Israeli products. Only 51% are actively avoiding Israeli goods, with one-third saying they buy products based on quality regardless of their origin. Ten percent indicated that they buy only Israeli goods.

The respondents were skeptical towards their own rulers, with 77% indicating that they would participate in elections, if held, although only 42% believed the elections would be fair. Thirty-five percent said they would vote for Fatah and 14% for Hamas. Nearly a third called for the dissolution of the Palestinian Authority.

The survey was conducted on March 26-28 with 1,360 participants.

Petition to the United States and European Union

We demand that all funding of the PA be stopped immediately. The brutal murder of Israelis committed by Palestinian terrorists throughout Israel is the latest result of ongoing PA incitement against Israeli citizens. Funding the PA means funding terror.
