A senior Israeli security official said the IDF 'has not yet withdrawn from any location in Israel's security zone in southern Lebanon.'

The statement revealed the creation of a deconfliction mechanism involving the parties and the Lebanese government to support implementation of the cessation of military operations outlined in the memorandum of understanding.

'Israel strikes when struck,' Huckabee wrote. 'Ceasefire happens when Hezbollah stops shooting and killing.'

'The IDF is currently striking terrorist headquarters in the Dahiyeh district of Beirut in response to Hezbollah's fire toward Israeli territory,' the statement said.

The announcement coincided with a new round of Israel-Lebanon talks in Washington aimed at reinforcing the ceasefire, even as violations continued on the ground.

The IDF described the incident as another blatant violation of the ceasefire.

The U.S. Embassy warned that the security environment in Lebanon remains complex and can change quickly.

In recent weeks, Italy has voiced growing criticism of Israeli operations in Lebanon.

The US and the rest of the international community were wrong to assume that Hezbollah would honor the ceasefire agreement with Israel.

Netanyahu has recently informed ministers that Donald Trump has given Israel a green light to carry out a major military campaign against Hezbollah.
