The IDF announced Wednesday that it had eliminated two terrorists who participated in the Oct. 7 massacre, including a Hamas commander who helped hold Israeli hostages in captivity and a Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative who infiltrated Kibbutz Be’eri during the attack.
According to the military, Muhammad Sa’id Ahmad Nimrouti, a platoon commander in Hamas, was killed in a strike in southern Gaza over the weekend.
The IDF said Nimrouti crossed into Israel during the Oct. 7 massacre and later played a role in holding numerous hostages inside Hamas’ tunnel network throughout the war.
In a separate strike in central Gaza, Israeli forces eliminated Mu’awiya Suleiman Saqr Ayadi, a platoon commander in Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s Central Camps Brigade.
According to the military, Ayadi participated in the assault on Kibbutz Be’eri during the Oct. 7 attacks, one of the hardest-hit communities during the Hamas-led invasion of southern Israel.
The IDF said both terrorists continued to advance attacks against Israeli forces and civilians throughout the war and in recent weeks.
Ayadi was also involved in planting explosive devices targeting Israeli troops operating in Gaza, according to the military.
Israeli officials said the two terrorists were killed in precise strikes after being identified as an immediate threat to IDF forces operating in the Gaza Strip.
The military described the operations as part of its ongoing effort to eliminate terrorists involved in the Oct. 7 massacre while preventing future attacks against Israeli troops and civilians.
“The IDF Southern Command continues to operate in accordance with the agreement and will continue acting to remove any immediate threat,” the military said.
