Matan Ifrach, an IDF paratrooper, shared his experiences, from his realization of the events of October 7th to training and battling in Gaza. His training lasted a month and was specifically tailored for Gaza and tunnel warfare.

Matan then spoke about the prevention of civilian casualties, how intensely Hamas has embedded itself into Gaza’s infrastructure, and the steps the army is taking to save lives.

He then revealed he had his first son while fighting in Gaza and how that changed his perspective on life. He also spoke of the intense emotions felt by him and his family upon leaving to Gaza, something that doesn’t get spoken enough about.
