A senior Canadian government minister praised the Jewish state and explained why it’s worthwhile to be an ally of Israel.

Speaking in New York in April at the 15th plenary of the World Jewish Congress, Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland not only defended the Jewish state, but also explained why it’s worthwhile for any freedom-loving nation to have Israel as an ally and friend.

Particularly in this day and age, when terrorism threatens countries and people across the globe, Israel’s expertise in counterterrorism is extremely valuable.

Aside from benefiting from Israel’s friendship, Canada supports Israel’s right to live in peace and security, she said.
