In the weekly Torah portion of “Balak” (Numbers 22:2-25:9) we read about two Jew-hating villains.

Bilaam, a non-Jewish prophet, was granted a level of prophecy on the level of Moses. He was also a very greedy magician and sorcerer.

Balak, the king of Moab, wanted to hire Bilaam to curse the Jewish people for a fortune of money. God told Bilaam not to go along with the scheme, but Bilaam couldn’t resist.

In the end, God arranged that Bilaam would shower the Jewish nation with an abundance of blessings!

With these two infamous villains in this Torah reading, we will take the opportunity to learn about them plus other villains in the Bible.
