Netanyahu dons a “kipa” (skull cap) and invokes the Biblical account of Hebron, which contradicts the UN’s latest anti-Israel resolution.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wore a traditional Jewish head-covering, or “kipa,” at Sunday’s weekly cabinet meeting in order to show reverence as he read from the Bible.
The departure from normal protocol at such meetings was precipitated by a vote by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Committee Friday passing a resolution to designate the Tomb of the Patriarchs and Hebron a Palestinian heritage site.
Watch as Netanyahu reads the dramatic words describing the first land acquired by a Jew in the Land of Israel, making Hebron truly unique.
