En el Muro Occidental, los israelíes dan gracias a Dios por las abundantes lluvias

Cientos de israelíes se reunieron el lunes por la noche en el Muro Occidental para agradecer al Creador por la abundante lluvia con la que Israel ha sido bendecido.

Las oraciones de acción de gracias fue iniciada por el ministro de Agricultura, Uri Ariel, y asistieron a la misma el rabino Shmuel Rabinowitz, el rabino de Kotel y el rabino jefe de Safed Rabí Shmuel Eliyahu.

«Hemos sido merecedores de dar hoy gracias a Dios por las abundantes lluvias que han caído y por las que vendrán», dijo Ariel.

«Hemos venido a felicitar a los maravillosos agricultores de Israel, y todos estamos felices por las lluvias y continuaremos orando por la continuación de muchas buenas lluvias», agregó.

Después de una sequía de cinco años, la escasez de agua en Israel ha empeorado. El Servicio Hidrológico de la Autoridad del Agua informó que las precipitaciones en 2018 fueron significativamente más bajas que el promedio de varios años y, por lo tanto, fue declarado el quinto año consecutivo de sequía.

Sin embargo, desde el comienzo de la temporada de lluvias de este año, el Lago Kinneret, el banco de agua más grande de Israel, experimentó una elevación de 0.88 metros en su nivel, según la Autoridad del Agua.
