Palestinian terrorists on Tuesday morning carried out a drive-by shooting attack against Israelis in Samaria.
No Israelis were harmed in the attack. The vehicle in which the Israelis were traveling was damaged.
The incident occurred near the community of Na’ama, with 9 mm bullet casings found at the scene of the attack. The route was shut down for a short period before the all-clear signal was sounded.
IDF soldiers from the Binyamin Regional Brigade launched a manhunt for the terrorists.
In related news, Israeli security forces carried out counter-terrorism operations throughout Judea and Samaria on Monday night, during which 11 Palestinians linked to terrorism were arrested.
During the IDF’s operation in the Palestinian village of Abu Dis, south of Jerusalem, riots ensued in which dozens of Palestinian hurled rocks at Israeli forces, who responded with riot control means.
Israel’s security establishment is on high alert following the daily Hamas-led violence on the Gaza border, and because of the commencement of the month-long Muslim holiday of Ramadan, which is usually accompanied by a rise in religiously-motivated Palestinian violence against Israelis.
Despite the heightened security concerns, Israel does its best to ease terror-control strategies, such as travel restrictions, as a goodwill gesture to Palestinians.
