The PA President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party exploited the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, in which nearly 3,000 victims were killed, to ridicule the US president.

On September 11, 2001, Islamic terrorists mounted horrific attacks on the US, killing thousands of innocent victims. In the years since, the day has been used to reflect and mourn those who perished in the incident, in addition to remembering victims of other terror attacks.

The political party of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas apparently thinks the day is the perfect time to mock the US’ current president, with tasteless cartoons that dishonor the solemnity of the day and the thousands of lives affected by the brutal attacks.

To that end, Abbas’ party published a number of cartoons on Sept. 11 this year, including one in which US President Donald Trump is portrayed riding atop of a plane about to fly into a building shaped like the PA map of “Palestine,” which in reality is a map of modern-day Israel.

The cartoons were exposed by Palestinian Media Watch (PMW), which monitors Arabic media for incitement.

The cartoon was published in the wake of the Trump administration’s recent decision to cut all US funding to UNRWA, the Palestinians’ United Nations agency, which has been criticized for vastly inflating the number of Palestinian “refugees” and exacerbating the conflict with Israel instead of helping to solve it.

In another one of the cartoons, published in the official PA daily, Trump is portrayed as Israel’s “puppet.” Israel is represented by an Israeli soldier with a giant nose, an anti-Semitic trope that is common in the Palestinian media.

Since the beginning of the year, Trump has slashed hundreds of millions of dollars in aid to the Palestinians, and recently declared that no further funding would be extended to them unless they returned to the negotiating table with Israel.
